THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Analysis
The Road Not Taken used the theme greed is by explain how the author tries to take both paths at the begging but he then decided that he has to take one. To prove that the author takes both paths it says in the poem “ And then took the other just as far.” This to me means that the author is greedy and how he wants to have both choices because they could both be good things. You could also interrupt that he was greedy because he
took the road that was less travel and that could have gotten him more stuff then the rest of the people that took the other path. The author says that he takes the road less traveled by saying ” Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— ….I took the one less traveled by.” Another example by saying this was greedy by looking at how he described both paths “Because it was grassy and wanted wear; …. In leaves no step had trodden black.” This has so many different interpretations of how the theme is greed is evil for example the author took
both paths and another interpretation is that he took the one less travel making him get the thing that others never got by taking the other path.
